Birmingham City Council – Bourneville School

Honeybourne were asked to complete the refurbishment of the main school facility at Bourneville School, Birmingham whilst the school remained occupied. The project was to refurbish the entire school and turn it into a multi-use facility for children with the primary school age group.

The plan was to strip the building back to its shell and rebuilt it to accommodate twelve new classrooms with twenty one toilet facilities, staff areas, a new quiet learning area, lounge, floors, lights and full redecoration.

The work was fast paced due to the requirement from the council that the project had to be completed and ready for the intake in September 2016.

The communication of the project had to be managed on a daily basis due to the close proximity of the refurbishment works with the school pupils. The main entrance was exceptionally tight and small – all deliveries for the project were timed to arrive at each end of the school day.

The project was completed on time and now staff and children are able to enjoy the new facilities.
